We assign member lawyers to each of the 210 Designated Marketing Areas (DMA's) within the United States based on where your offices are located and which states you are admitted to practicing law in. Each DMA is then divided into ownership units based on the total size and competition within each market. Ownership units per DMA can range from as little as 1 unit to 50+ depending on the size of the market.
Each member is allowed to own one or more units in each qualifying DMA resulting in either an exclusive ownership or a fractional ownership based on the total number of available units owned. Once all available units are sold to member law firms in each DMA, no further units can be owned.
